Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
The popular and fun anime TV series "Bakugan Battle Brawlers" has spawned this strategic game that pits a variety of "Bakugan warriors" -- such as "Juggernoids," "Fear rippers," and "Robatallians" -- against each other for points. With this Bakugan Battle Pack, kids 4 and above will enjoy the challenge of earning points by rolling their Bakugan (or shooting them from a launcher) onto magnetic cards where the plastic spheres burst open to reveal the fearsome warrior apparatus inside. Kids will also love the way the Bakugan transform suddenly into warrior mode, and fans of the show will have an especially good time with the game.

NOTE: The Bakugan Battle Pack includes a random selection of six Bakugan warriors. It also includes eight metal cards and instructions. It does not include the optional Bakugan Launcher.

Ready, Set, Play!
The mission of Bakugan game play is to battle against other Bakugan to win the points awarded on the cards by getting your Bakugan to land on card. Players will love pretending to be one of the various characters in the show, such as the fiery 12-year-old leader "Dan" or the wise "Marucho," and they gain a deeper understanding of the cards and warriors as they play.

The Battle Pack includes instructions, making it an ideal way for newbies to get started with this fun and exciting game. The game itself is fairly straightforward, but if your child has never played before, you might have to help him or her to understand the rules -- after reading and understanding them yourself. While some of the plastic Bakugan pieces are small and could easily get lost, others, like the Bakugan Deka, are as big as a softball.

If your child is already a Bakugan fan, the Battle Pack is a good investment. This set comes with six randomly selected Bakugan and eight magnetic cards. Your child will love how this set dramatically increases their collection of Bakugan! He or she can also use the Battle Pack to play with his friends who might not have any Bakugan of their own.

Exciting Magnetic Action
The Bakugan come in lots of colors and varieties that make them fun to collect and trade. Most of them are pocket-sized and easy for your child to carry around and bring over to their friend's houses. Having a magnet that activates the warriors is a clever idea that adds excitement to the game. The Bakugan Launcher (sold separately) is a great accessory, with three shooting modes ("curve," "angle, and "distance"), but it doesn't come with any instructions.

Room for the Imagination
We like that this that this game combines skill (aiming your Bakugan) with strategy (placement of the cards). We also enjoyed the way the warriors pop open on the magnetic cards -- although sometimes they do it even when they don't land on the cards. Being unfamiliar with the TV show, we felt a little lost at first in the world of Bakugan. But with the help of the colorful, animated Bakugan Web site, we got the gist of what the game is about and how to play. Our attempts to fire the launcher proved somewhat difficult and instructions would have helped. But the launcher isn't necessary. Kids can simply roll the Bakugan like marbles for a fun and action-packed game with their friends.

What's in the Box
Six Bakugan, eight metal cards, and instructions.

These small spheres magnetically morph into powerful Bakugan warriors when they roll onto the real metal Gate Cards! Styles are selected at random when shipped.

Bakugan4
I am not sure about this toy, however, my son and his friends thinks they are great. I do like the magnetic mechanism which causes the figure to morph from a cynlinder into a creature...thats pretty cool. The only issue I have is with different dealers charging different prices for the same object. The company I used in conjuction with Amazon, seems to be the most fair ...and resonably priced (even lower than the major chains like ToysRus and Etoys).

My recommendation is...if you by Bakugan action figures, please forge ahead and purchase the holder as well. Its compact and can be dismantled to carry certain figures in a holder. Trust its better than finding yourself hurt due to one on the floor. ... Like I told my son, he is NOT getting the insurance money now! smile

Popular Toy4
My daughter is in 4th grade and this is "the most popular" item around. The kids trade them at school. Some of them look pretty interesting on how the open. They open when you place them on metal or on the magnetic card. I wouldn't call them very educational, although the kids do pay attention to how powerful the numbers are on them and they learn some basic engineering when unfolding them into the character.

Seiko 5 Automatic Military Blue Watch

Seiko 5 Automatic Military Blue Watch

Hi, how are you?
We are interested in the Lastest model of Seiko 5 Automatic Military Blue Watch Yes, I think that interesting .

Customer Shopping BuZZ

Great engineered product5
I am still in the process of reviewing this product. Here's what I have so far:

Xbar 107 seconds/week (runs fast) (7 min./month compared to 2-4 sec./month quart watch)
St DEV 27 sec.
N = 7
95% CI 2.447 using Student's t
m+ = 136 seconds/week
m- = 78 seconds/week

Summary:

Good points:
* Beautiful with dark blue face, white symbols, functional medium blue nylon band;
* Easy to read, even in the dark;
* Easy to use with uncomplicated settings similar to other watches;
* Compact design;
* Measurement consistency is excellent compared to quartz mechanism.

Bad points:
* Difficult to set time (see instruction below);
* Gains 10 seconds a day (consistency); and
* Does not have a manual wind stem.

Discussion
This watch looks great. Unlike other self-winding or kinetic watches, this one is compact. In the best tradition of Japanese product development they thought hard on how this watch should function and say about the wearer. The hands are easy to reading, even for those of use with failing eyesight. The second sweep hand has a read tip allowing easy setting of the time.

Unlike some Japanese product, they provided a short, simple instruction on winding the watch. Here, I am comparing them to Citizen's ecco-drive watch, which I also own. Just gently work your arm back and forth for three minutes and the self-wind watch will charge; or, you could wear it for a day.

Okay, now for the negatives. First, this is not your quartz watch. The original self-winding mechanism was invented, according to Wikipedia, by a Swiss watchmaker in 1770. Since then it has gone through several improvements but is not as accurate as the quartz mechanism popularized starting in the 1970's. Sieko warns that this watch could be off by as much as 10 seconds a day. One days use indicates that my watch runs about 10 seconds fast.

The great watchmaker Harrison, who invented the first chronometer accurate enough to track longitude, said that consistency is more important than accuracy. (A poor copy of one of Harrison's chronometers was carried by Captain Cook on his circumnavigation of the globe. He had nothing but good things to say about it.) I have another self-winding watch, an Armitron, which runs consistently 15 seconds fast on days that I wear it.

From my measurements of quartz watches, their accuracy, while dazzling when compared to old hand-wound watches, are less accurate than my old German pendulum clock. So I am told, the longer the arm, the more stable the swing and the more accurate the timepiece. I compare everything to atomic time. And, because the quartz mechanism is battery-driven, it seems to suffer from inconsistency. I carefully measured my collection of six quartz watches over a 2 year period. While the battery was new, the error was consistent. As the battery burned out, the error became difficult to predict. Sometimes a positive error (adding time) would become a negative error (losing time) as the battery died. This dying period was also hard to predict.

The accuracy of the quartz mechanism is not as good as my pendulum clock. They all lost or gained approximately 2-3 seconds, on average, per month.

Based on a week of measurements with the Armitron, I would say that it is shockingly inaccurate but consistently so. Assuming that the Sieko error continues to be consistently 10 seconds fast this will mean that I will have to reset it every week. This is a small price to pay for an otherwise beautifully crafted and honestly-priced handiwork.

Setting time
The date and day are fairly easy. I suggest turning the watch arms until the click past a day so you won't be twelve hours off.

Setting the time is another matter. What works best is to set the hour and minute hands, then gently hold the second hand. It should pulse a little as it tries to force itself forward. Once the seconds are accurate, release and the second hand should be accurate. It takes a little practice at first and don't set the time until you pump the watch 3 minutes to charge the spring.

Time to unwind
It takes about 39 hours (1 test) to unwind.

If this review was helpful, please add your vote. Thank you.

One out of four5
This watch comes in 4 models, SNK 803 with a beige strap and dial, SNK 805 with a green strap and dial, SNK 807 with a blue strap and dial, and SNK 809 with a black strap and dial. What I like most is the red tip on the seconds hand that sweeps continuously across the dial and not in steps for every second like in most analog watches. Also cool is the untraditional numbering of the hour markings, where the 5-minutes are more protruding than the hours. The strap looks better in the photos than in reality, but it's still very nice and tough-looking, although it is narrower than you think when you see it on the guy's arm in the pictures above. The see-through case is a gimmick I could do without, but anyway, nice to watch the watch work. Buy all four and you have one to go with every occasion and dress colour/code. This item sells on eBay for 30-40 dollars.

Economics students, here's a cheap tool Ever had some retromingent old professor modify a diagram on the board -- tweak of a demand curve here, shift of supply there, new equilibrium everywhere -- that is completely unintelligible when you get your notes out? Start with blue, change a color every time the old... fogey changes something. You'll be able to recreate the step much more easily. High tech advice: remember which order you used the colors in!

Most efficient pens I've used
As a pharmacy student, these pens help me in ways I cannot put a price-tag on. I used to buy these individually in a store but this saves me a good bit of money, and is convenient. I like to take notes with different colors so I can associate colors to different pieces of information by relevance. If I had to actually carry around many pens with me people would think I'm strange. I have not used another type of pen for over a year, so I can assure you, I am very familiar with these works of art. I have noticed that the green ink dries/runs out a bit faster than all the other colors. But a 3.5-color pen is still better than a 1-color pen, and at this price you can't really go wrong.

there great
When your job requires different ink colors on your documents and you dont like having to search for the colors its great to have one pen for it all.

Product Description

SEIKO 5 - the meaning of the "5" A great marketer had the idea in the 70ies: to be a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the following 5 (five) attributes (thus the name SEIKO 5): 1. Automatic, 2. Water resistant, 3. Shock resistant, 4. Date, 5. Day. Please note that some SEIKO 5's are in fact SEIKO 4's, if the "Day" function is omitted, then the Caliber 7S25 is used. The only difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of the day wheel. Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is similar to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26. Please note that all these movements beat at a rate of 21'600 bph (beats per hour) or 6 bps (beats per second). As a comparison, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28'800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21'600 bph. Why do I mention these three movements? Because they are found in probably 80% of all inexpensive automatic wrist watches. A market share that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by an increasing share of inexpensive China Made automatic movements An automatic watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanical watch, typically with a balance wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the motion of the wearer's arm, instead of having to be wound manually every day. Whereas a quartz watch is powered by electricity, a mechanical watch is powered by a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time

Daniel Silva Book "The Messenger"

The Messenger

Hello there!! How are you doing?We are interested in The Messenger I will think This Interesting ,and you can see that

Customer Shopping BuZZ
Another Brilliant Thrill Ride +++`The Messenger' by Daniel Silva I was late to reading Daniel Silva, however, I am absolutely hooked and `The Messenger' is a big reason why. This is the second Gabriel Allon novel I've had the pleasure of reading - the first being `The Secret Servant', which I didn't think could be topped - and yet again, my favorite novelist delivers big time! This tight, twisting plot is as cerebral as the star of the show. Art history plays a big part of this book which adds an extremely interesting cultural dimension, never mind an integral part of the story itself. `The Messenger' sees Messir Allon confronting `Jihad Inc.', the Israeli spy services pet name for a radical militant Middle Eastern terror group emanating from Saudi Arabia. Our hero must find a way to infiltrate the aforementioned group in hopes of averting a plot to assassinate not only the Pope, but the President of the United States. Characters from Israel, the U.S. and the Holy See all combine to form a story of terrific depth and breadth while never failing to remain thrillingly coherent. At this late date, pick it up in a bargain hardcover version and hang on to your seat while reading. A++ story!
Upgrades Silva from a good to a great author! +++Everyone has read reviews that say, a real page turner, could not stop until I turned the last page; well this book surpassed all of those routine comments. It was now 2:30 am, I was overly tired so much that I was having trouble focusing my eyes to read but I forced myself to finish the book. I knew I would not be able to sleep without knowing what happened to the characters that I wanted to find and terminate the terrorists that had tried to assassinate the Pope and the President of the US. Silva must have used a spread sheet when writing The Messenger, as I did with my novel al-Qaeda Strikes Again, as he did not leave any loose ends hanging. Amazing his attention to even the smallest detail. This thriller by Silva has so much accurate history and dares to portray the Islamic threat as it should be; actually naming names, etc. This book should be required reading for all our politicians and anyone else that wants to understand this war that we are in. God help us if we don't wake up soon!
Smooth as silk +++I thought this book was one of his best and gave it to my wife to read. I had doubts about her reaction, but she keeps asking me if all of Dan Silva's books are this good. The answer is simply yes. He is an excellent author.

The Messenger Description
Gabriel Allon, art restorer and spy, has been widely acclaimed as one of the most fascinating characters in the genre and now he is about to face the greatest challenge of his life. Allon is recovering from a grueling showdown with a Palestinian master terrorist, when a figure from his past arrives in Jerusalem. Monsignor Luigi Donati is the private secretary to His Holiness Pope Paul VII, and a man as ruthless as he is intelligent. Now, however, he has come to seek Allon's help. A young Swiss guard has been found dead in St. Peter's Basilica, and although Donati has allowed the official inquiry to determine that it is suicide, his instinct tells him that it is murder-and that his master is in grave danger. He has trusted Allon in the past, and he is the only man he trusts now. Allon reluctantly agrees to get involved, but once he begins to investigate he concludes that Donati has every right to be concerned, as, following the trail from the heart of the Vatican to the valleys of Switzerland and beyond, he slowly unravels a conspiracy of lies and deception. An extraordinary enemy walks among them, with but one goal: the most spectacular assassination ever attempted. Filled with remarkable characters and breathtaking double and triple turns of plot, The Messenger solidifies Silva's reputation as his generation's finest writer of international thrillers. More

Moscow Rules

Hello there!! How are you doing?Have a nice time i find Moscow Rules I make this product appeal to young people
Customer Shopping BuZZ
A penetrating look at the new Russia Daniel Silva has become my favorite author in the thriller genera, and MOSCOW RULES is another winner. Silva tosses Gabriel Allon into the boiling caldron of current world events--this time Putin's Russia. Allon must counter a sinister al-Qaeda plot to kill thousands of Westerners. but first, al-Qaeda must obtain a quantity of SA-18 missiles. The source of the shoulder launched Russian anti-aircraft missiles is Ivan Kharkov, a Russian oligarch and world class arms merchant. Allon is in an Italian villa, happily restoring a masterpiece for the Vatican, when a building crisis causes his superior to recall him to help solve the murder of a Russian journalists. Silvia, takes his protagonists into the decadent capital of the new Russia, Moscow, and its wantabe Tsar, Putin. MOSCOW RULES is a complex thriller, hard to put down--even for another cup of coffee. Tension builds as Allon unravels Kharkov's sinister plot. Silva takes the reader on a tour of Moscow that would never be approved by the Russian government. He also paints a picture of the new Russia that leaves no doubt about the Bear's ambitions, and that a new Cold Wars in coming. Lee Boyland, author of two award winning techno-thrillers dealing with current events, Islamic terrorists and WMDs: The Rings of Allah and Behold, an Ashen Horse.
Gabriel in Moscow Mercedes, BMWs, Volvos, high speed bullet bikes, in Moscow; a new generation of wealth from exports of natural resources oil, steel, nickel, and commodities. Gabriel action days seem to be coming to an end. He suffers a broken eye orbit and potential loss of sight from a damaged retina. The books reveals the merciless action of death in Moscow of free reporting reporters. Suppression of the truth by two reporter murders has brought the attention of the Israeli intelligence. The arrows of Allah is funneling arms sales through Ivan Kharikov, a sell out move, Al Queda weapons acquistion, through Africa, and potential threat to US and Israel. Elan, Ivan's wife, decides, she must stop her monsterous husband from kill more innocents. Gabriel designs plans too recruit Elan, manipulate an English Art dealer, professional deal with Sarah Crawford (who expressed her love for Gabriel in a moment to tension and enraged Chiara), and masterfully create a replica of "Two children on the Beach". Gabriel uses the desired painting too gain an opportunity to talk with Elena under the interrogating nature of Ivan. Ivan allows Elena to buy art because he has millions from weapons sales, prestige and power among the New Moscow, and a mansion whereby to house the art. Ivan has weakness. Ivan is having an affair with 19 year old Moscow super model. Gabriel exploited the information to get Elena to help him obtain Ivans secret papers that will reveal the transaction locations. Revenge and injury will be the excuse to keep Elana alive and allower her and the children to escape for Ivan. Elana must get secret papers documenting the weapons transactions, but no plan is perfect and things go wrong. Gabriel is order by Shammron to abandon the operation, but Gabriel disobeys in an attempt to save Elena. FSB saves Gabriel and allows him to kill a number of Ivan's men. Gabriel gets tortured twice, saves Elana and the children, stops a terrorist attack on US soil, and returns to Israel to resume his honeymoon with Chiara. The books illustrates the Western transformation in Moscow and the lawless nature of the Russian environment and culture: bribery, softline communist, report deathes, and wealth oligarchy accumulation at the hand of organized crime. Shocking images of socialized property structures with small cities living like rats in the structures.
An excellent read This is the first Daniel Silva book I have read and I found it to be an entertaining pageturner which kept me wanting more. It is well-written and good entertainment. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars because it could have been better, but it was overall a very good, well researched story that I enjoyed. Garbriel Allon is a complex well crafted character who is superior to many other writer's heros in this genre which tend to be wooden and very simple. This is definitely a thinking persons thriller in the the direction of Le Carre.

Moscow Rules Description
The extraordinary new Gabriel Allon novel from the “gold standard” (The Dallas Morning News) of thriller writers.Over the course of ten previous novels, Daniel Silva has established himself as one of the world’s finest writers of international intrigue and espionage— “a worthy successor to such legends as Frederick Forsyth and John le Carré” (Chicago Sun-Times)—and Gabriel Allon as “one of the most intriguing heroes of any thriller series” (The Philadelphia Inquirer).Now the death of a journalist leads Allon to Russia, where he finds that, in terms of spycraft, even he has something to learn. He’s playing by Moscow rules now.This is not the grim, gray Moscow of Soviet times but a new Moscow, awash in oil wealth and choked with bulletproof Bentleys. A Moscow where power resides once more behind the walls of the Kremlin and where critics of the ruling class are ruthlessly silenced. A Moscow where a new generation of Stalinists is plotting to reclaim an empire lost and to challenge the global dominance of its old enemy, the United States.One such man is Ivan Kharkov, a former KGB colonel who built a global investment empire on the rubble of the Soviet Union. Hidden within that empire, however, is a more lucrative and deadly business: Kharkov is an arms dealer—and he is about to deliver Russia’s most sophisticated weapons to al- Qaeda. Unless Allon can learn the time and place of the delivery, the world will see the deadliest terror attacks since 9/11—and the clock is ticking fast.Filled with rich prose and breathtaking turns of plot, Moscow Rules is at once superior entertainment and a searing cautionary tale about the new threats rising to the East—and Silva’s finest novel yet.List Price: $26.95 Amazon Price: $17.79 & eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25.
